Each Sabbath, we start our services with singing and prayer. Then we have Bible Study time, which we call Sabbath School.
Sabbath School is based on the study of a pre-agreed passage of Scripture or Bible theme. During this time, the facilitator encourages each person to share what they have learnt from their personal, daily, study during the week. Everyone is encouraged to participate with thoughts and observations.
There are separate classes for adults and for children.
This is the time when one person, such as a local Pastor or Elder or invited visiting speaker brings us a presentation, that they have taken time to pray about and prepare. The aim is for this presentation to be "God-inspired".
Before the speaker speaks, we have time for special music, the giving of offerings and a 10-minute presentation, specifically for the children.
Once a month, on the 3rd Sabbath of each month, we share a fellowship lunch together.
The meal is vegetarian, with the aim of promoting healthy living. It is pot-luck but individual families are asked to contribute parts of the meal which we all share.
From September 2023, we are planning to have afternoon Bible Studies, specifically on the 28 Fundamental Beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
This is an excellent resource to know about the history, purpose and mission of our church.
Visitors are especially invited to attend.
Each Wednesday evening, the members of the church come together for one hour to pray for each other, to share joys and sorrows and also to pray for whatever or whoever comes to mind. It's a wonderful time of "unburdening and encouragement"
